Sixth Form Open Morning, Friday 6 December

Our Sixth Form Open Morning will take place on Friday 6 December from 9.15 am until 10 am. The Head of Sixth Form will give a short talk about life in Sixth Form followed by a tour of the school. Please book your place HERE

How to make your application

To make an application for entry to the Sixth Form in September 2025;

If you are an internal student, please use the login details which have been sent to your school email address.

If you are an external student, please complete your application by logging in HERE.

The deadline for applications is 17 January 2025.

In addition to the many Parmiterians who continue their journey into our exceptional Sixth Form, we also welcome many new students who join the school to undertake their A Level studies.

All students (both internal and external) need to achieve a minimum of 33 points in their six best GCSE subject results to qualify for a place in the Sixth Form at Parmiter’s.  Students then need to meet the entry requirements for each A Level subject they wish to study.  We understand that students may change their minds about which subjects they wish to study between declaring an interest and results day; students will be able to change their subject choices as long as they fit with the options blocks and provided there is availability on the course.

Our current Year 11 students will select the subjects they wish to study to A Level and their choices will be discussed with them.  Advice and guidance will be offered as appropriate.

Internal and external students wishing to apply to Parmiter's Sixth Form must complete the online application form (deadline to be confirmed).  Late applications will only be processed after all other applications.

All applications (both internal and external) will be analysed to establish the financial and educational viability of running A Level courses.  This process will determine which A Levels will run and how many offers can be made for each course.

A Level choices for both internal and external applicants will be treated identically and offers made until all prospective places on an A Level course are filled.  Applicants will receive notification in writing of any conditional offers, subject to final GCSE results, and will be required to accept this place in writing by the date given on the letter.

An Induction Day, for all Parmiter’s Year 11 students and external students with offers, will be held during the Summer term. This is a great opportunity for students to meet, get a feel for the Sixth Form and the subjects they wish to study.  Students will also be expected to complete work over the summer for each of their subject choices, in preparation for A Level study.  Students studying Mathematics and/or Further Mathematics will receive additional information about the Mathematics Entrance Test, which takes place prior to the start of the Autumn term.

We run an induction programme in September for all our new Year 12 students to ensure they feel fully integrated into the Sixth Form at Parmiter’s.

Once the GCSE results have been published in August and our registration process has been completed, we will publish a list of courses that still have places available.  If you have any questions, please contact the Sixth Form Team by email:  6thformadmissions@parmiters.herts.sch.uk.
