Sixth Form
Welcome
Most Parmiterians continue their journey from Year 11 into our exceptional Sixth Form and many new students join the school to undertake their A Level studies. As with the transition from Primary school, new students bond quickly with their peers and immediately become members of the Parmiter’s family.
Our Sixth Form focuses on the transition from school to adult life, whether that is a move to university, an apprenticeship or the world of work. Parmiter’s offers a distinct enrichment programme that enables students to learn from experienced professionals from a number of the UK’s major institutions.
Independence, resilience and a genuine good work ethic are all hallmarks of Sixth Form Parmiterians who are role models for younger students across the school.
Sixth Form Team
The Sixth Form team comprises two Heads of Sixth Form and a Sixth Form Pastoral Team. They work closely with a team of experienced pastoral form tutors who meet with their form group every day.
Expectation and Achievement
The culture of the Sixth Form is one of high expectations and opportunities in which independence and responsibility are fostered and the potential of each individual student is maximised.
Parmiter’s has an excellent record of success in public examinations.
Academic standards are exceptionally high; our A level results regularly place us amongst the top state schools in the country with the majority of our students continuing their studies at top universities. The school is also aware that, increasingly, students are considering alternatives to university. Whether they face the challenge of entry into Higher Education, employment, apprenticeships, training or gap years, they can be assured of expert help and guidance.
